On the back of Democratic Service Officer Beverley Newman delivering a Dementia Friends session for WBW solicitors, they approached Chard Town Council to enquire if it would be possible to hold a bake sale at the Guildhall on Wednesday 5th July. This formed part of the Alzheimer’s national fund raising and creating awareness event entitled “Big Bake Bonanza.”
Property Advisor of WBW, Carlie Broome commented: “WBW Solicitors provide legal services across the Southwest, in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. We work with local community charities as well as our firm’s partnership charity, Alzheimer’s Society. Our staff organise fundraising campaigns and awareness events throughout the year for the Alzheimer’s Society and the Big Bake Bonanza was just one of many. We would like to thank staff at the Guildhall for helping to make this one such a success. WBW raised over £90 in less than 2 hours. The people of Chard are incredibly generous.
Each of our offices try to work with our local communities. Our Chard office also recently collaborated with Redstart Primary School to run an Easter Colouring competition to help raise funds.
All 12 of our offices participated in the Alzheimer’s Society Forget-Me-Not campaign in May. WBW will also be supporting the Trek26 South Devon challenge held in September whereby all proceeds will go to Alzheimer’s Society. We are looking forward to more events, large or small, throughout the year. All our offices have completed or are in the process of completing Dementia Friend Training, an interesting and provoking insight into those affected by the disease.”
