Mayor’s blog Week ending 21st July 2013

On Tuesday 16th July Andy and I were invited to meet the staff at Eleos café in Fore Street, we had a lovely cup of coffee and homemade cake, which is always the way to our hearts!

Nat and his wife Sarah welcomed us and told us a little bit about their business and how well they were doing. The café was busy with people of all ages enjoying the ambience and good food; the lovely weather meant that there were lots of people sitting on the chairs and tables outside too.

On Saturday 20th July At the invitation of Robert Rollings the president of Chard Rotary Club we attended the concert of Budleigh Salterton male voice choir which was in St Mary’s church. The choir was amazing and we sang along to the hippopotamus song  “mud, glorious mud”, the evening was completed by a spectacular performance by local girl Helen Webber whose voice rang out among the rafters as she entertained us with songs such as “I could have danced all night”. What talent we have in Chard.
