COMMUNITY LIAISON ADMINISTRATOR
SCP Range Grade 14 – 17 (currently £16,781 – £17,772)
Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated member of staff to work as Community Liaison Administrator within the Corporate Services Team based at The Guildhall, Chard.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of the post include:
- Community Engagement
- Civic Event Planning
- Administration support
As a Community Liaison Administrator, you will be our eyes and ears on the ground, quickly finding out community passions and connecting people to others to make things happen. To do this you will need to establish strong and robust relationships within communities and have a network of key partners. Your interpersonal skills, diplomacy, influencing, negotiating and relationship building skills will be some of your keys to success in improving the quality of life for our community. To meet our expectations in this exciting role you’ll also have good self-awareness, be resilient, creative and an innovative lateral thinker.
You will be responsible for managing the Mayor and Deputy Mayor’s diary and a calendar of civic events to support and promote the Mayor’s office and the public visibility of the Council. In addition, you will undertake general finance and administration support for the Council.
As a key point of contact for the organisation, the role will suit someone who is confident working with a variety of people in a courteous and professional manner.
In return we offer a salary based on national salary scale points 14 – 17 (The precise starting point within this range will be determined by the skills and experience of the successful applicant) and 21 days holiday per annum (plus 2 statutory days and bank holidays), increasing to 26 days after five years’ service. We provide training and continuing personal development, including the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.

GUILDHALL ASSISTANT p/t (Temporary Position)
Would you like to be part of our caretaking team at the Guildhall in Chard?
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic part time Guildhall Assistant to work thirty hours per week as required Monday to Sunday. You will need to work flexibly as the hours and days will vary from week to week depending on the bookings at the venue, but they will usually be arranged as six hour shifts over five days each week. The work will include setting up rooms, cleaning, general DIY and a high standard of customer care. You will be responsible for the building security and will be a key holder for the venue.
The successful candidate must be willing to work as part of a team, be able to comply with instructions and able to manage their own work effectively. The salary will be paid at £8.72 per hour, monthly in arrears.
PLEASE NOTE: This role is a temporary position while the service is being evaluated. There is a potential it will be made permanent depending on the outcomes.
