We have received notification that from 18th – 22nd November 2024 The National Grid will close Furnham Road from Furnham Church Road to the junction with the A30. Traffic flow will be maintained for vehicles heading out of Chard towards Ilminster/Donyatt. Traffic coming into Chard from this direction will be directed through Victoria avenue. We will be excavating a trench in the footpath to install a new cable for a new supply and a spare duct for future use if required. On 20th November from 9pm we will be completely closing the road directly outside of our substation to remove the old substation and land the new substation, this will take approximately 2 hours. The road should be re-opened on Friday 22nd November, we will still be working in the area after this date but all work will be off of the highway. Please click on the link for a map.
