Hailing all the way from New York, ‘rising star’ pop singer Nikki Pope, who has featured on This Morning and BBC radio will be performing at the Mayor of Chard’s Christmas Charity Concert at The Guildhall, Chard on the 16th of December from 7.30pm.
Also featuring on the night will be The Shillings, a very popular Somerset based folk and country group with a reputation for telling stories in song and building an instant rapport with audiences. The fusion of guitar, mandolin, banjo & fiddle accompanying wonderful close vocal harmonies, make The Shillings an absolute must see.
Local folk musician and singer Hannah Cumming will be performing at the charity concert Hannah creates a beautiful sound with her unique mix of singing accompanied by her skilled fiddle playing. Hannah lifts inspiration from the likes of well-known Folk musicians Jackies Oats, Paul Sartin and Seth Lakeman.
Popular musician and Chard resident John Gudge will be acting as the Master of Ceremonies throughout the night.
Tickets for this fantastic evening of festive fun are just £5.00 per person and are available from The Guildhall, all for a good cause as proceeds will be donated to the Mayor of Chard’s chosen charities for this year:
Hope For Tomorrow: who launched the world’s first Mobile Chemotherapy Unit in a unique partnership with the NHS. Owned and maintained by the charity, and operated by highly trained NHS staff, these well-equipped Units allow cancer patients to receive treatment in a restful environment closer to home, saving stressful long distance travel and minimising waiting times.
Lord’s Larder: A Chard Churches Together food bank service founded in 1991, now operating out of the Forefront Community Centre. It provides emergency food supplies for families and people in need in Chard.
It would be fantastic to see local people coming together to support these charities and great artists.
