Dear Parish Clerks
LCN Consultation – the final few days.
Our LCN Consultation ends soon, on Monday, 17 October at midnight.
During the past six weeks we have been engaging with you in-person and virtually. We have visited District offices, and attended parish meetings, at your kind invitation. Last week of course, we held a hugely successful conference in Yeovil in which 300 of you attended.
We have had hundreds of responses. Thanks to all of those who have taken part to date. We hope you feel better informed.
And the conversation does not stop on October 17! We’ll keep talking and working together to deliver LCNs in our communities on Vesting Day (1 April 2023) and beyond. LCNs will evolve over the months and years ahead – and they will be shaped by you.
We said your views are important to us, and every voice counts. A couple of parishes have indicated they may not quite make that 17 October deadline. Please contact us directly if that is the case, and we’ll have a conversation as to how we capture your contributions.

You’ll appreciate that we have a lot of work to do now, collating the responses and analysing the findings. Following the consultation, a formal decision paper, including a resourcing plan, will be submitted to Somerset County Council’s Executive, scheduled for 16th November 2022.
Best wishes – and thanks again. We’ll be in touch!
