Carer’s Voice Somerset
23rd May 2018 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Carers’ Voice Somerset is an independent group of carers and former carers who work with both statutory and voluntary organisations who offer some measure of support for carers in the county. Working with these organisations Carers’ Voice gathers information to see where services are working well and where they need improvement at 3 workshops a year and through other communications methods. They keep an eye on what is on offer for carers and gather current carers’ ideas and concerns. As part of this undertaking they have obtained funds from the Somerset Community Foundation, to run 5 roadshows in Frome, Bridgwater, Chard, Minehead and Glastonbury between March and June.
Chard’s event will be on:
Wednesday 23rd May at The Guild Hall, Fore Street, Chard, TA20 1PP. Time: 10.00am – 1.00pm.
No booking required
Free event with teas, coffee, cake and biscuits.
If you, or anyone you know, would like to visit one of the roadshows they would be most welcome and will find useful information and support which may not be needed now but could be useful in the future. There will be opportunities to exchange ideas that people have found helpful and to contribute to the monitoring of Somerset’s Commitment to Carers (an outline of what carers have said they need which has just been accepted by the Somerset Health and Wellbeing Board.
Carers’ voices are helping to shape policy so carers’ voices need to be heard.
