Chard Town Council Electric Vehicle
Chard Town Council is pleased to introduce our new vehicle for use by the amenities team around the town. It is an electric powered vehicle which is part of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and Climate Emergency response. It is very economical and quiet in use so look out for it around the town.
Cllr Jason Baker Mayor of Chard said “I am very proud and excited that the purchase of this electric van means that we are moving towards a more environmentally form of transport. This is something that we have been working on for around 4 years with the aim of replacing all our vehicles over a period of time which will help towards reducing Chard Town Council carbon footprint. We have rapid charging points available in Chard and will soon be gaining more in the newly built Leisure Centre carpark which is great news for anyone shopping or visiting Chard with an electric vehicle”
The amenities team are pleased to welcome the van that “has become a very good piece of kit to the department. Easy to use and start. On full charge we can expect approx. 166 miles and out about on a daily use we charge the van approx. every 6 to 8 days”.
