Chard Museum:
The museum is located at the top of Chard High Street, and provides a fascinating look at “times past” and the many inventions of John Stringfellow.Displays at the Museum give a comprehensive history of the town, its life and industries. Further exhibits depict the life and times of John Stringfellow, inventor of powered flight and James Gillingham, pioneer of artificial limbs. The museum has been featured on both radio and television. The Museum opens at 10.00am from May 3rd - October 30th 2010 Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 8th May Chard Museum
Ferne Animal Sanctuary:
Situated just off the A30 west of Chard,the Sanctuary provides refuge for over 240 animals. The charitable Sanctuary was founded in 1939 and offers a beautiful nature trail, a picnic area and tearoom with outstanding views over the Yarty Valley. Ferne Animal Sanctuary
Perry's Cider Mills:
A Working Cider Farm, Farm Shop, Tea Room and Rural Museum. Situated in the picturesque Somerset village of Dowlish Wake and approximately 5 mile from Chard . Established in 1923 the Perry family continue the tradition of growing and pressing their apples on the original farm site.
